We are booked on Disney Adventure for Jan26. This will be our first Disney Cruise. Would like to check, are there any other options for dining? 5:45pm is too early while 8:45pm is too late. Would you miss any evening shows if you opt for the earlier time?

Ahoy there CheeTat, it's so exciting to welcome you aboard planDisney!

Embarking on any voyage on the open water is always thrilling and for many fellow First-Timers at sea on any Disney ship, it can definitely be a little daunting to figure out the way rotational dining works on board that is signature to Disney Cruise Line voyages. While at the time of writing we're still around a year away from her first sailings with guests,

    • What I can share from my years spent working on board especially in the Entertainment department, is that the evening activities and offerings are designed to fit around the seating times with multiple showtimes for the major Live Shows such as Remember and Disney Seas the Adventure. This should come as a relief to first-time cruisers who want to make sure that they won't miss the onboard entertainment - though unfortunately I've also found that there may be times when you'll notice something listed on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App that coincides with your dinner seating that you might not be able to attend unless you plan ahead for it. Sometimes this might mean looking into the option of an alternative dining location that evening like Pixar Market Restaurant or more casual spots like Pizza Planet or Stitch’s Ohana Grill - depending on what's open when you do decide to eat outside of your assigned dinner seating.

I can definitely understand how these dining times might not fit with everyone's typical schedule, and I've personally worked on a ship in the past sailing to Asian ports where we observed local customs and dining behaviors didn't quite align with the seating times. I'll be very curious to observe how this affects the first sailings on the Disney Adventure and how guest flow will be accommodated and managed not just in the dining venues but in the theater and themed areas on board, especially considering her significantly larger guest capacity overall. (In my past personal experience being in charge of scheduling onboard entertainment, we've even included additional showtimes and had to take into account how much longer families would linger during mealtimes!)

I hope that this helps, CheeTat; I highly recommend keeping an eye on those early voyages just like I will in December 2025 so that we can see first-hand guest experiences that can help you plan ahead. In the meantime, come back to us here at planDisney for any other tips or advice any time before you set sail!

Here's to your first great Adventure at sea!
