Ahoy there, Lynette! Welcome to planDisney. I’m so glad you’ve sailed our way with a great question for us.
We’re a family of 4 and have sailed quite comfortably in Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah staterooms in the past. However, we recently sailed with our now adult children, ages 18 and 22, and we would say our stateroom was “cozy”. They’re not tall (about 5’5”) so the upper berth pull-down bed and the sleeper sofa were adequate for them to get a decent night’s sleep. Both beds measure approximately 32 inches by 72 inches, which is slightly narrower than a standard twin size mattress. So, if your children are tall or like to spread out in their sleep, they may be a bit uncomfortable. I’ve crawled onto the upper berth pull-down bed and laid there (for research purposes!). It’s close to the ceiling and I was nervous about bumping my head when trying to sit up. I’m also afraid of heights so it was probably a good idea I didn’t sleep on the pull-down bed overnight! It may not be an issue for your adult children but just wanted to mention these findings to you so you’re aware. My friend Adrianna actually slept on the pull-down bed during one of her cruises and you can
read all about her experience!
Because you’re all adults, you can enjoy an exquisite dining experience together at an adult-exclusive restaurant (additional fees apply). Depending on which ship you’re sailing on, you may be able to dine at
Enchante by Chef Arnaud Lallement,
Remy,
Palo or
Palo Steakhouse.
On the other hand, even though they’re adults, they will always be your children. Relive their childhood and don’t forget to enjoy timeless activities together, such as indulging in some soft serve ice cream cones, riding the
AquaDuck or
AquaMouse, and snacking on some Mickey waffles!
I hope this information is helpful for you, Lynette. As you continue to plan your upcoming sailing, please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again.
Have a magical day,
Kiki
