Hi, Booked for DCL-Dream Aug 2011. I read that chairs are on a 1st-come-1st-serve basis at Castaway Cay Beach. Wondering how fast we need to scurry off the ship to run for chairs :) Also what is the rental fee for private cabanas ? This panel ROCKS !

    Hi Joyce Ann,

You are correct, the chairs and hammocks on Castaway Cay are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Each and every cruise I have noticed a flurry of guests storming the beach to set up camp under an umbrella or in a hammock - however don't be deceived!  I am one that believes that slow and steady wins the race, and we have always found ample chairs available at the far end of the beach.  Sure it's a little further to walk, however the uncrowded territory is worth it in my opinion.

So although the immediate beach area will be busy, and crowded - serenity is not far off.  There are restrooms and bar service along the entire beach, so you won't miss a thing if you reach the end of the beach.

The Cabanas have just recently opened, and it is reported that the current rate is $499 for the day, and must be booked once onboard.  This rate includes a cabana host, fruit, snacks, water, soft drinks, sunscreen, towels, fresh water shower, beach toys, tube and float rental, snorkel gear and a one-hour bike rental for up to six people.  Prices and amenities are subject to change.
