Hi Moms! Just booked our 1st DC! I read that we can bring our own snorkel gear for Castaway Cay...just wondering if flippers are required? Thanks!

    Ahoy, Ashley!

Congratulations on booking your very first Disney Cruise! Our first cruise was aboard a Disney ship, and I'm spoiled now - I can't imagine sailing with anyone else!

Guests are more than welcome to bring their own snorkel gear for Castaway Cay. Flippers are not required, but you will be required to wear a life vest while snorkeling in the lagoon off Castaway Family Beach. Bright yellow life vests are provided free of charge at Gil's Fins and Boats or at Flippers & Floats. The vests are thin, and you can inflate them to your comfort level. I've found the vests to be very comfortable when I've snorkeled there!

Make sure to keep an eye out for Hidden Mickeys under the crystal blue waters - you never know what magical surprises you might see!

Hope this helps with your planning and packing. Please come back with any further questions! - Diane W.
