We are booked for 6 days Disney and 5 day cruise. How many outfits per person should we pack? Is there Laundry service at the Port Orleans and the ship? How long is turn around to get your laundry back?

    Hi Scott,

There are coin-operated self-service laundry facilities on the ships and both Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Resorts.  There are change machines located in the laundry rooms, as well as detergent if you need to purchase it.  Valet dry cleaning and laundry service is available for pickup from your room.  There is a bag in your room for this.  Normally, if you get your dry cleaning picked up early in the day (before 9:00am); you'll get your items returned that evening.  I know that there is an express laundry service option on the ship for an extra charge.

As for packing, I have overpacked on every one of my Disney cruises, and it always comes down to this.  Casual during the day (shorts, tshirts) unless you have a special lunch or brunch reserved, then it's resort casual.  My husband and I always changed for the evening.  Something a little dressier, but again, resort casual is fine.  There is one formal night so you want to take a suit or sports coat.  Soooo....two outfits per day.  When traveling with the kids, I do the same thing.  There are times that they stay in the same outfit as sometimes they are having so much fun at the kids clubs, they don't want to leave to have dinner.  Mom and Dad get ditched, but who's complaining?  One more thing, we stay in the same clothes for dinner on the first evening.  You never know if your luggage will be delivered to your room in time for dinner.

I hope this helps with your planning.  Remember to mix and match!  I know you are going to have a wonderful trip, but I'm sending some pixie dust your way to help with the packing.  I know it's overwhelming.  Have a wonderful trip!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
