Hi Deborah,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I am so happy to hear that you’ll be crossing the big pond to come visit The Happiest Place on Earth!
As long as your ticket is wholly unused and unexpired, your son will be able to use the ticket, even if it currently has your name on it. When you first scan into the park at the turnstile, each Guest will need to take a photo that will be linked to their ticket. After that, the ticket will officially be attached to your son and cannot be transferred to another Guest.
If the name on the ticket really bothers you, I recommend calling
Disney Ticket Services at (714) 781-4636 to request a name change. When calling, be sure to have the following information ready:
* The full name of the person receiving the ticket
* Your MyDisney account email
* Your phone number
Just so you know, Deborah, there are
new turnstiles at the Disneyland Resort that make scanning in much quicker. You’ll approach the turnstile and scan each ticket (for you, it will likely be the digital version in the Disneyland mobile app). As each ticket is scanned, the Guest using it will take a photo right there on the screen. That’s when the ticket officially becomes assigned to them. If it’s been a while since your last visit, it’s a good idea to
familiarize yourself with this updated process.
I hope this information is helpful, Deborah! If you have more questions or need tips for your upcoming trip, don’t hesitate to come back and ask us. We’d love to share more advice and sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your Disneyland Resort vacation!
Happy planning!
