I just booked my daughters first Disney World trip for October 2011. She will be just about 2 at the time of our trip. I wanted to know what are the best places for character dining? I want to do a few so she can meet as many characters as possible. Thanks

    Hi Samantha,

My daughter's first character experience was at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom.  Most two years just love Winnie the Pooh and the gang from the thousand acre wood.  They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner so the reservations are not that difficult to get depending on when you are traveling.

I also would recommend Hollywood and Vine at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Their character breakfast and lunch buffets include an interactive Disney Junior themed sing and dance along.  Your daughter can run up and dance or join in a congo type line.  If she is more on the shy side, she may just enjoy watching all the "big" kids singing and dancing.  The entire restaurant is festive and fun and perfect for the under 6 crowd.

There are specific areas in each theme park to meet and greet DIsney Characters.  My family has had great luck at Animal Kingdom.  Usually you can find Pooh and friends in their safari outfits at the character landing.  Check the park's time guide, which you can get as you enter or any any retail shop, for the exact times they will be there.  You can also visit with Mickey, Minnie, and friends over at the Character Greeting Trails located by Camp Mickey and Minnie.

If you visit Disney's Hollywood studio, you have to check out the Disney Junior area by the Magic of Disney Animation.  There, you may be able to see Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso, and other favorite characters from Disney Channel cartoons.

As you enter any of the theme parks be sure to grab a map and a times guide.  You will be able to find all the best character meet and greet spots.

    Have a great trip
