We booked our 1st cruise on the Magic for jan 2012 and we are so excited!! Can you preorder a "photo pass" cd to include all our crusing moments or is it only offered on ship? for a 7 day cruise how much does one cost? Also, are sodas etc at an ex

    Hey, Paula!

Congratulations on your first cruise aboard the beautiful Disney Magic next January -- I'm excited for you! The photography services aboard Disney Cruise Line (DCL) is Shutters which operates independently of the PhotoPass Service you may be accustomed to at Disney Parks. Yet, it works pretty much the same way.  Once you are checked in at the terminal, you'll have opportunities (almost immediately) to put your professionally-made photos on your stateroom key.  Therefore, you're going to want to keep it handy -- even as you are boarding the ship.

All your photos will be kept on your stateroom key, and you'll be able to locate your photos (prints and digital) at Shutters at any point of your cruise. To my knowledge, there is no pre-purchase opportunity for the photo CD for DCL, but there are frequently deals, discounts and even chances to win a CD once you're on board. (It varies according to the ship and itinerary...so I can't guarantee that such offers will be available.) The regular cost of a CD for a 7-day itinerary is about $400.

I hope this helps you plan. Your other question got cut off...so feel free to write back and ask something else. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
