We booked our cruise a little late and there are not a lot of excursions available. My youngest son turns 5 about 4 days after our trip so it looks like he is not old enough to hardly go any where. Any suggestions?

    Hi there, Lori!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited to hEAR you are going on a Disney Cruise Line vacation NEXT MONTH!!!  Before you know it, you will be onboard the FANTAStic Disney Fantasy sailing off to sea for an adventure you won’t forget!

Like you, we tend to book our Disney Cruise Line vacations at the last-minute, which I LOVE because it makes the wait that much less!  But, yes, in doing so it sometimes limits things you can book ahead of time because other Guests have already started booking onboard activities.  But I do recommend checking back often as Guests plans do change and if they do, those activities will become available to book immediately!  So, if you see something in there, grab it – even if it doesn’t cover your entire travel party because I have found it’s easier to ask Guest Services about adding an additional Guest to a character meet and greet than it is to ask for tickets for an entire group!

When it comes to Port Adventures, having a smaller Mouseketeer does often restrict some of the activities you can do.  My recommendation would be to book a beach day for Tortola and visit the Coral World Ocean Park in St. Thomas!  My family loves a beach day and it’s great for all ages…stock up on some sand toys at the dollar store and bring them with you and head to the beach for the day!  While booking through Port Adventures is always my first choice if you can’t do that, get a taxi to take you to a beach or book a trip through an outside vendor.  Just be sure to plan accordingly and arrange for a ride BACK to the ship so that you are there ahead of your “All Aboard” time!  The Coral World Ocean Park is a fantastic stop for all ages, with animals to see and touch and we have loved visiting there on multiple occasions!  Castaway Cay is a great day to just enjoy the beach – and I bet your little will love visiting the on-island Youth Club, Scuttle’s Cove, too!  If so, be sure to use that time to head to the adults-only beach at Serenity Bay for a relaxing break!

I am so excited for you and the fun that awaits you onboard!  As your vacation approaches, please come back with any other questions you have!

    Happy Sailing!
