Hi I have booked a cruise later this year and going to have my granddaughter with us do I need to have the Authorization for Minor to Travel without a Parent or Legal Guardian form signed by both parents or just one and does it need notarised?.

Hello there, Christine, and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm glad that you thought to visit us in preparation for your voyage. At planDisney, we are fellow guests with a passion for planning Disney Vacations. We are happy to help!

It sounds like you have been busy planning to make some wonderful memories with your granddaughter. A Disney Cruise is such a great option for multigenerational sailing parties. There are so many activities and types of entertainment that appeal to all ages. You are sure to have a lovely time.

If your granddaughter is under the age of 18 and she will not be traveling on the cruise with a parent or legal guardian, you must present the completed Authorization for Minor to Travel Without a Parent or Legal Guardian form upon checking in at the cruise terminal to board the ship. This form only needs to be signed by one parent or legal guardian but it does require notarization. I also encourage you to check if your country requires any additional paperwork or forms of authorization to be completed when traveling outside of your country with a minor. It's always a good idea to plan ahead and it sounds like you are doing just that.

Before boarding the ship, be sure to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Once you step onboard, this app will be your handy guide about what's happening and where to find all of the fun. You can also utilize the app to get in touch with Guest Services, book a future cruise vacation (usually with a special offer while onboard), or even chat with other members of your sailing party with the app on their device. I love to view the daily schedule of activities and click the heart icon next to activities that I don't want to miss. The app will send a notification reminder when it's time for any of the "favorited" activities to begin.

Keep an eye out on the entertainment in the D Lounge for some interactive family games that are generally a big hit for the whole family. And one last bit of advice, be sure to check out activities happening around the ship early. You may enjoy something so much that you'll want to return again for more fun later in the voyage.

I wish you a smooth sailing full of many wonderful memories! Please cruise back to us at planDisney if you have any more questions. We'd love to help you chart a course for adventure on the Disney Cruise Line!

    Happy planning,
