We have booked our cruise on the Disney Wish and staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort beforehand. Do Disney offer free transportation to Port Canaveral and back to MCO Airport and is there a service to get our luggage transferred on embarkation day?

Why hello there, Saijalben, and welcome to planDisney! I’m delighted to hear you’ll be sailing aboard the Disney Wish and beginning your adventure with a stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. You’ve picked the perfect pairing for a fairytale holiday! As Princess Tiana herself would say, “My dream wouldn’t be complete without you in it,” and I have a feeling this journey will be one you and your sailing crew will remember forever.

Let's get to your question: I’m pleased as punch to let you know that Ground Transportation is available for Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, including Port Orleans. This service will take you to Port Canaveral on embarkation day and back to Orlando International Airport (MCO) after your cruise. While Ground Transportation is not complimentary, it can be booked directly through Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent. For me and my family, our Disney Cruise begins the moment we step onto this magical carriage and spot the ship at port for the first time!

If you choose this add-on, Disney will handle your luggage on embarkation day with their signature pixie-dusted efficiency. The day before your cruise, you should receive an email with instructions, along with luggage tags, including what time to have your tagged bags ready to be collected (typically outside your door). Once you board the Disney Wish, your luggage will magically appear at your stateroom later that day.

Just remember to pack a carry-on with cruise-day essentials, including necessities like travel documentation and medication, as well as everything you need to start your fun in the sun right away, like a swimsuit and sunscreen. Even though your room is typically ready around 1:30, your checked bags may take a little longer to make their way to your door.

Saijalben, I wish you an unforgettable journey ahead. Whether you’re dining like a princess at 1923 or drinking something enchanted at The Bayou lounge, the Disney Wish was truly made for the dreamer in all of us. And if any more questions hop into your head before your storybook sailing begins, we’d love to welcome you back to planDisney.

    Cheers and smooth sailing,
    Sami
