Ben Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We have now booked a couple of dining shows and they required pre payment. We are on the dining plan and plan to use our dining plan credits. When and how do you get reimbursed for the amount you prepaid? Thanks for all the answers! Great site

    Hi Ben,

One of the main advantages of the Dining Plan is that dining reservations that would normally require pre-payment do not require pre-payment for Guests wishing to use their Dining Plan.

For future reference, when making your dining reservations at restaurants normally requiring pre-payment, you will need to click on where it says "I want to use my dining plan to book reservations".

You will be asked to provide your confirmation number, last name and arrival date which will associate your Dining Plan to your dining reservations allowing you to make your reservations without having to pre-pay.

(Please note you will still be required to enter your credit card details in order to guarantee the reservation but, your credit card will not be charged unless you fail to show and do not cancel your reservation in which case a penalty would be charged.)

If you have made your dining reservations without associating your dining plan and have actually been charged the full amount already, you have two options:-

1/ When you arrive at the restaurant(s) for your meal, simply explain to your server that you prepaid for your meal on your credit card when making your dining reservation but would like to use your Dining Plan credits instead.

They will deduct table-service meal credits from your Dining Plan for each Guest in your party (aged 3 and over) and will refund your credit card there and then. (You will however need to take the exact credit card that was used at the time of booking)

2/ If you would like the money to be refunded prior to your visit, I would recommend that you call and speak to a Cast Member on (407) 939-3463 and explain the situation. Although this can be a lengthy process, it is possible to alter your existing dining reservation and in this case, your credit card would be refunded straight away.
