Hello, I booked Chef Mickeys for my son, dil, and 2 grandsons at 9:45 am. What’s the best way to get there from Pop and when should they leave? Also are characters signing books? Any other ideas to make their first trip magical? Ages 5 & 7 Thanks!

Hey there JoAnne and welcome back to planDisney!

I love to see a person really throw themselves into planning their visits to the Walt Disney World Resort wholeheartedly and you are the perfect example. You've really been giving it your all in your preparations for the whole family and this breakfast at Chef Mickey's is certainly icing on what is shaping up to be a very sweet cake.

Disney's Pop Century Resort is one of my favorite Disney Resorts Collection hotels. The Hippy Dippy Pool there has been the location of some of my best vacation naps. But how to get to Chef Mickey's from there? When going to a breakfast reservation, I nearly always recommend using a rideshare service. It's the easiest option for getting to a restaurant in time for that meal. And with the return of Disney Minnie Van Service, your family will be sharing so much more than a ride. They'll be sharing the magic! Your family can order a Minnie Van through the Lyft app and be picked up by their polka-dotted chariot at their hotel. A warm and knowledgeable Cast Member will then be able to take them to Disney's Contemporary Resort for their date with Mickey and friends.  I would probably plan on leaving at 9 AM at the latest to give them plenty of time to take the ride over to breakfast. You'd rather be a bit early and explore the resort than be late and rushing.

A ride in a Minnie Van is just one of the many ways y'all can make this first vacation extra magical for your grandsons. Be sure to stop by the Front Desk upon arrival and grab First Visit buttons for them to wear for the duration of the trip. Cast Members will see them and recognize this special occasion and may even add a little pixie dust to their day.

Pro-tip: Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the don't-miss event of the fall season at The Most Magical Place on Earth. I would definitely recommend purchasing some tickets, getting the boys' best costumes together, and getting spooky over at Magic Kingdom Park one evening. A little trick-or-treating is just the thing for a little extra magic in your life.

JoAnne, I hope I've been able to help you today. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
