Hi there, Emma!
Welcome to planDisney! Here, it's never too early to begin thinking about the details of your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation (like where exactly you'll be hanging your mouse ears). I'm so glad you stopped by with your question!
I recently returned from a stay at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort myself, and I think it's one of the best Disney Resort hotels for a summer vacation. The colorful buildings, palm trees, beaches, and pools will make you feel as if you are vacationing on a tropical island. It's truly the perfect place to rest your feet, soak up some sun, and enjoy a frozen beverage when you're not in the theme parks. Personally, I loved spending a few afternoon hours reading in a hammock as the Skyliner floated overhead before heading back to grab dinner and catch some fireworks, fully refreshed to linger until the theme parks closed for the day.
Now, let's talk room locations! I just checked both the US and UK versions of the Walt Disney World website, Emma, and I'm seeing that Caribbean Beach Resort is currently offering
booking categories that include Standard View Rooms, Water or Pool View Rooms, King Bed Rooms, and Preferred Rooms in addition to Standard Location and Preferred Location Rooms. This is likely because the reservation type can make a difference in the room categories available for booking. The descriptions for the Standard and Preferred Location rooms indicated the potential for all view types, but what sets them apart will be the proximity to the amenities at Old Port Royale. In my experience,
buildings in the Martinique and Barbados villages are typically considered 'preferred' because they are just a short walk away from the shopping, dining, and recreation offerings.
It is a fairly large Resort, so if you're dreaming of a certain view or calling a particular village your magical home away from home, I recommend reaching out to a Cast Member via phone or the chat function on the website to add the request to your booking. While requests cannot be guaranteed, it never hurts to ask!
No matter which village you're assigned, don't forget that the timeless luxury of
Disney's Riviera Resort is just a short scenic stroll around Barefoot Bay away! Filled with delicious dining, magical art, and a partial view of EPCOT's nightly fireworks, it's definitely worth a visit.
I hope this was helpful, Emma, and that you'll come see us again at
planDisney. You've got a friend in me!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
