We are booked at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness Feb 10-14, 2012. Do you recommend driving to the parks or using the resort transportation? Which parks would you drive to? Which parks would you use the resort transportation for?

    Hi Jennifer,

The Cabins at Fort Wilderness are lovely!  That is the only way you could get me to go "camping" ever.

Fort Wilderness is huge.  There is an internal bus system as well as buses that take you to the parks.  If you are fortunate to have a car with you, I definitely recommend using it to get to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. There is a boat launch to Magic Kingdom that is quite convenient.  Getting to Epcot would be a toss up for me.  I think it would be fun to take the boat to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then ride the monorail to Epcot.  However, driving would probably be quicker and easier.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
