Hi Emily!
How excited are you?!?! Your Disney Cruise Line vacation is less than one week away! I am sure you have been planning this for awhile and it’s finally almost here! Oh, I am so excited for you!
One thing I have learned from cruising with Captain Mickey is that its’s never a good idea to look at the weather ahead of time! I love weather and I am a planner, but I have found that sometimes looking ahead to the weather is not always in MY best interest! But I completely and 100% understand your concern. My recommendation would be to keep the
excursion as planned. If weather is a cause for cancellation by Disney Cruise Line, then you will not be charged for the excursion. Disney Cruise Line has safety in mind and of the upmost importance, so, if weather becomes an issue, they will likely cancel it – but if the weather decides to cooperate then you will be set! I have also found that most days a rain shower will come through, but also pass through quickly opening up beautiful Bahamian skies. You may also want to contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 and ask if they can advise you on the number of participants and what kind of weather would constitute a full cancellation once onboard. If after discussing with them, you feel more comfortable cancelling it and “playing it by ear”, then you certainly can.
I know you are busy finalizing your packing list and getting everything organized for your fun adventure at sea but try not to worry too much about the weather! I have been on cruises with absolutely perfect weather and I have also been on cruises during torrential downpours – even ice storms out of Galveston, and no matter the weather – they have all been memorable!
Happy Sailing!
