Ahoy there, Sahara! I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate your daughter’s first double-digit birthday than on a Disney Cruise, so I’m glad you stopped by planDisney with this question.
When it comes to making celebrations magical, Disney is second to none! I would start by filling out a
“Special Request” form to let the Cast & Crew Members know about her special day. (Make sure to submit this at least 3 weeks before sailing.) While they will inform the dining room about her birthday when you do this, it also helps to let your Lead Server know during the first night of your
rotational dining.
Speaking of spreading the word, make sure to stop by Guest Services once onboard to request a birthday pin just like you can find at Disney Parks. That way she’ll receive some special well-wishes wherever she is and whatever she is doing on the ship, from the
Oceaneer Lab to
Character Greetings.
If you want to make sure she has a birthday cake while sailing, head to the
“Onboard Gifts” section of the website, where you’ll find a variety of birthday cakes and treats available to purchase. Those can then be delivered directly to your stateroom. While browsing there, check out the stateroom decor choices as well. It’s a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious way to put a smile on her face the minute you step through your door for the first time.
As a mom, I too love making my kids’ birthdays as out of this world as possible. Whether it’s ordering cookies and milk before bed from
room service (which is complimentary!) or starting dinner with a Mickey Ice Cream Bar (which I still do to this day, even when it’s not a special occasion!), you’ll find a myriad of ways to make this birthday one to remember for her.
If you think of any other ways we can help you, don’t hesitate to visit us at
planDisney again before your trip!
Bon voyage,
Sami
