    Drew from MI Asked

Just booked Art of Animation in February 2022 - is there no longer transportation provided from the airport to the resort?

Hello, Drew, and welcome to planDisney. You are going to have so much fun staying at Disney's Art of Animation Resort early next year. It's such a great resort to stay at, I love all of the themed rooms and common areas. Be sure to have your camera out and ready while you walk around, there are so many cute photo opportunities!

Drew, starting at the first of next year Disney's Magical Express service will no longer be running. You will need to find your own transportation to and from the Walt Disney World Resort. However, there are plenty of options to get you to Walt Disney World so there is no need to worry. My favorite option and one I actually use now even with Disney's Magical Express still running is a ride-share service. I promise you this is the most timely way to get to the Walt Disney World Resort from the airport. Both major companies service this area and I find both are really comparable in price. However, I do check both apps before calling a car just because sometimes one company will be running a promotion or have a discount offered to me. If you aren't comfortable using a ride-share service, a similar option is a standard taxi. Taxis are queued up and waiting right outside the door of the airport to take you anywhere you'd like to go. Of course, the time in the car is going to be about the same with a taxi but I do find they charge a bit more than a ride-share service. If you aren't interested in those options, you can always hire a car service company to be waiting to pick you up from the airport. A quick internet search will turn up several companies in the area that offer that service. You'll have choices between a Towncar, SUV, passenger van and even a limo if you want to arrive in style. This option is probably going to be the most expensive route but also the most convenient since they will be waiting on you and will help you with your bags and whatnot. The other option that I have heard of is actually Mears Connect. Mears is the company that Disney contracts out Disney's Magical Express service to. With the discontinuation of that service, Mears has decided to start their own shuttle service back and forth. You can head over to their website to check out all those details.

As you can see, there are plenty of options to get you over to Walt Disney World for your magical and memorable vacation, you'll just have to budget a little extra for them. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
