Booked for April 2010, plan on 6 days of visiting parks (no park hopper, no waterparks). AK seems to close early every night... is there a reason for this? And will we be able to finish AK in one day or will it need a repeat visit? DS6 and DD4.

    Hi Celestina,

I believe that Disney's Animal Kingdom closes early compared to the other theme parks out of respect and concern for the safety of the animals.  I also believe that's why there are no fireworks at that park, even for special occasions such as July 4th.

I recommend arriving at all parks at least 30 minutes before their posted opening time.  When we've done that, we've had no problems doing Animal Kingdom in a day.  If it works in your schedule, you might visit Animal Kingdom on a day that has evening Extra Magic Hours.  Animal Kingdom is particularly beautiful at night.

Also, remember that if you change your mind about park hopping, you can purchase the option at Walt Disney World.  There's no reason to buy it in advance; you can wait until you actually visit a second park on the same day.  Just remember that the cost for the Park Hopper option is the same whether you buy it on the 1st day of your visit or the last day.

    Have a magical vacation!
