I booked a 5B on the Adventure, but I found out that while I could hear the music,I couldn't see the show.I suggested to my travel companion that we change to a 5A,but she insists it's unnecessary I ask.Is there a significant drawback to 5A rooms?

Ahoy there, Yuko! Welcome aboard, planDisney!

It’s so exciting that you’re going to be sailing on board Disney Cruise Line’s newest vessel, the Disney Adventure! There are so many cool spaces on board the Disney Adventure, including 7 themed areas! One of those special areas is the Disney Imagination Garden on Deck 10, featuring plenty of dance parties and shows!

For prime viewing of the Disney Imagination Garden from their stateroom, guests should book a stateroom on either Deck 11, 12, 13, 15, or 16. These staterooms are called the “Deluxe Garden View Stateroom with Verandah” and are categorized as either 5A or 5B.

While I have not personally sailed on board the Disney Adventure yet, and therefore, have not had the magical opportunity to experience watching or listening to a dance party from my verandah (but you better believe it’s on my cruising list!), I do have plenty of experience booking staterooms on the other Disney Cruise Line ships. From what I know and my personal experience, staterooms are categorized by their location, amenities, and type. However, since these two staterooms on the Disney Adventure are the same type and have the same amenities, it leads me to believe that they are categorized differently due to their location.

I contacted Disney Cruise Line, where a Cast Member confirmed that 5A staterooms do generally have a more centralized midship location than the 5B staterooms. That’s not to say 5B staterooms don’t offer good Disney Imagination Garden views, as it was confirmed to me that they still do, but the 5A category staterooms could offer a more direct view.

As an example, I was looking at two different Deluxe Garden View Staterooms on the Disney Adventure for myself. While both are located in midship, and one is categorized as 5A, and the other is 5B, the 5A stateroom did have a more centralized midship location. The 5B stateroom could still offer great views of the Disney Imagination Garden below, but the 5A was directly overhead. All this to say that, truly, and in accordance with the Cast Members' confirmations, you really can’t go wrong no matter which stateroom you choose!

Since I don’t know the exact location of your stateroom, I have a suggestion for you, if you’d like to be sure, though. I suggest contacting Disney Cruise Line, as a Cast Member can look up your reservation and offer guidance based on your exact stateroom location. You can also find your stateroom using the deck plans of the Disney Adventure, and then find its proximity to the Disney Imagination Garden. This is a technique that always helps me when I’m trying to decide on a good stateroom location.

Yuko, I hope this helped offer clarification. I wish you the most beautiful memories on board! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
