Greetings, Esther, and welcome to planDisney! Your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth is just around the corner. Can you already smell the sweet churros and hear the harmonies of the Dapper Dans?
World of Color Happiness! is a great show, and the perfect way to end a day at California Adventure.
Esther, it appears as though there are no reservations currently available for the
World of Color Dessert Party on September 8, 2025. There are fewer performances (and therefore, dessert party opportunities) in September due to the
Oogie Boogie Bash happening at California Adventure throughout the month. That is a separately ticketed after-hours event, and California Adventure closes early on nights when it's scheduled. However, new dining opportunities may be released anytime up to 1 day out, so I'd encourage you to keep checking back to see if any dessert party reservations appear for the date you are interested in!
I'll wish upon a star that you'll have a chance to experience the World of Color Dessert Party during your visit. If it doesn't work out and the dessert party is unavailable, there are some alternative experiences you might consider:
- Join the virtual queue for World of Color from the Disneyland mobile app. As long as you've entered California Adventure by noon, you'll be able to join the queue to secure a spot in the preferred viewing area for the show!
- Book the Paint the Night Dining Package to enjoy a delicious lunch at Plaza Inn, followed by reserved viewing of one of my favorite nighttime shows! Imagine more than one million colorful LED lights, high-energy music, and dazzling floats making their way along the parade route.
- Character Dining is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a sit-down meal while being visited by Disney pals! Storytellers Cafe is my favorite spot, and there are some fun seasonally themed experiences available in September.
- You can have a dessert party of your own by trying out some of the various Halloween treats available throughout the Disneyland Resort. Check out the Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog to see some of the ghoulish desserts that you might want to add to your list!
- Guided tours are a lot of fun, and there's a great one during Halloween Time that you might enjoy. It comes with reserved viewing of the Halloween Screams show, too! I recommend checking the Hours & Events Calendar and choosing a tour date on a day when fireworks are scheduled.
Esther, I hope this information has sprinkled a little pixie dust on your plans. Please keep checking the World of Color Dessert Party reservations, and think about some of these other opportunities as backups. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Wishing you magic,
Kriss
