    If you book a WDW vacation and then Disney rolls out a great promotion - can you call up and re-negotiate to benefit from the promotion? Have any of the moms on the panel done this successfully/what was your strategy? Thanks!

    Hi Ingrid!

    Absolutely!  My family and I have taken advantage of this several times. 

    However, you should think of discounted rates as a "clearance sale".  Disney is generally releasing the discount in an attempt to get more guests into the resort hotels during a specific time period.  If you want the discount, you have to be willing to take what's available.  The more flexible you are with the dates and the hotel, the more success you will have.  There have been times when a substantial discount was released for the period we were traveling, but we couldn't take advantage of it because we had our heart set on a particular resort.

    Something else to keep in mind is if you have a "room only" reservation, you can make changes to it without a penalty until 5 days prior to check-in; 6 days for reservations made online.  Thus you really want to apply all discounts before that period.  Likewise, if you have a "vacation package" (includes tickets), you can change or cancel your reservation without penalty up to 45 days in advance.  Please keep in mind, however, that Disney's cancellation and refund policy is subject to change at any time.
     
    If your travel dates are not immediately available at the discounted rate, try calling back periodically.  Availability will change if other guests change or cancel their reservations.  Also, this is something most Authorized Disney Vacation Planners are good at.
