I want to book a 3br villa December 3-9, 2023 at my home resort. What if I want to book this at another WDW DVC resort? What dates and time can I make this reservation? is it based on the Check in date, or checkout date?

    Hey There, Perry!

As a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member and a fellow Buckeye, I'm happy to welcome you back to planDisney!  Thanks for dropping by with another question. With a 3-Bedroom Grand Villa on your wish list, it sounds like you planning to visit Walt Disney World with a big group –– how exciting!  We often travel together as a large, multi-generational family and there's nothing I love more than a vacation where the whole gang gets to join in on the fun.  And without a doubt, there's no better way to enjoy all the fun of traveling as a group than when you're all together under one roof in a Grand Villa.  So I hope you're ready for lots of laughs and memory-making –– I have a feeling that there's plenty of both in store for you!

If you're planning to book a 3-Bedroom Grand Villa at your Home Resort, your Home Resort Priority Period will begin 11 months from your check-in date.  If you're planning to stay at a Resort other than your home Resort, you'll be able to book your room beginning 7 months from check-in.  This means that if you're planning to check in to your Home Resort on December 3rd, you'll be able to begin booking your reservations on January 3rd.  If you'll be staying at another Resort, your booking window will open on May 3rd.

Just keep in mind that because of the added advantage that your Home Resort Priority Period gives you, you're much more likely to find availability for Home Resort if you're booking right at 11 months. For this reason, I recommend booking a reservation for your Home Resort, even if you're ultimately hoping to stay somewhere else.  That way, you know that you'll have a guaranteed reservation for your dates and you won't be left scrambling in case there isn't any availability later on. If another Resort isn't available at the 7-month mark, remember that you have the option to make up to two active Waitlist requests per membership at one time and you can also choose to have your Waitlisted reservation automatically cancel another reservation in the event it comes through. This means that if your perfect Grand Villa at another Resort comes available, you'll be able to automatically replace your Home Resort reservation with no hassle –– it's easy and convenient, just the way vacation planning should be!

Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Perry.  I hope this helped to answer your question, but please don't hesitate to stop by again if you need more information –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
