For most Disney goers, a trip to Walt Disney World Resort requires a good amount of planning. This planning may be a couple of years in the making before actually going on the trip and a lot can happen in that time frame. Thank you for your question on special offers which are one of the big items that may come up as you continue to plan your trip. Let's review the process and get ready in case a discount is released.
To your question, I am happy to say that YES, if a
special offer becomes available after you already make your reservation, you do have the ability to have the discount applied to your trip. You can do this in one of two ways. The first, and easiest, is going through your
My Disney Experience account and getting this done yourself. Let's walk through those steps.
Let's say you are booked for a trip to Walt Disney World in October of 2023 and a deal drops which will apply to your trip in August. To see if this will apply to your vacation what you can do is check through your My Disney Experience account. After you log on, go to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. You should see your reservation linked and all the details. Look to the far right and you should see a hyperlink to "Change/Modify Reservation". If you click on that hyperlink, you will be taken to a screen to make changes, don't worry though, there are several steps to confirm so just looking won't change anything!
You can plug in the same dates, resort destination and travel party and hit "search". When your search does come up, you will scroll down and between the resort overview at the top and the actual room options below, you should see several options with a green dot to highlight them. If your query does qualify for a discount, this will be listed there and you will select the appropriate option. This should then repopulate the results with the new discount added. Move through the steps just as you were booking for the first time and you should be prompted to confirm the changes several times before actually changing the reservation.
There is a potential issue you may come across in moving through the steps listed above when you are looking for the "Change/Modify reservation" link. Sometimes, instead of this link, you will see a notification to call a number listed if you wanted to make any changes. No worries as you will call that number to have any discounts applied to your reservation as a Cast Member will help you through this process.
Another option you have is to
call Disney directly and have a Cast Member help you through this process if you do not feel comfortable navigating these waters yourself. Please be patient as many will be doing the same the first few days new discounts drop as many will try to get them applied to their vacations.
