Hi there, Trista!
It's always a treat to assist a fellow resident of the Peach State here at planDisney. I'm so glad you stopped back by!
There's nothing quite like arriving under the iconic archway that welcomes you to The Most Magical Place on Earth, and vacation packages with a
dining plan are a great way to make your Walt Disney World vacation seem even more magical by giving it an all-inclusive feel. While booking your vacation package early ensures the best availability, occasionally plans (and budgets) change, so I'm happy to share that it is possible to modify your Disney Resort hotel after making the initial reservation.
Typically, this process can be completed online by logging into your
My Disney Experience account, navigating to 'My Reservations', and then selecting the link to change or modify the reservation. From there, you'll be directed to a screen that will allow you to modify the eligible aspects of your vacation. One of my favorite parts of this feature is how it shows a side-by-side comparison of the current reservation with any requested changes so that you can compare prices before completing the checkout process. If you don't see the option to modify online,
Hakuna Matata! You can make any desired changes to your reservation by
reaching out to a friendly Cast Member by phone.
Now, while it is possible to modify vacation packages, it's important to keep in mind that if you've booked a
special offer, there's no guarantee the same offer will be available for every resort or room type at the time of modification, so this is where the comparison tool really comes in handy!
When choosing where you'd like to hang your mouse ears, I suggest keeping in mind each Disney Resort hotel's location and transportation options. I recently enjoyed a stay at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort during a vacation in which I planned to frequent EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. I loved that both destinations were just a short
Disney Skyliner ride away from my room! If there's a certain area of Walt Disney World Resort you know you'll be visiting multiple times, you might want to consider a hotel nearby to reduce transportation times.
I hope this clears things up for you, Trista, but if you have any additional questions about the modification process, don't hesitate to
reach back out. I'm happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
