Hi there John!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. My family loves the
Walt Disney World Swan Hotel and
Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel for their picturesque location along Crescent Lake and proximity to
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios. We stay here frequently, so I'm happy to assist with your inquiry.
John, the easiest and surest way to accrue Marriott Bonvoy points for your stay at one of these properties is to book directly on the hotel's website. This way, you can book your stay while logged in as a Marriott Bonvoy member, and your points will automatically be credited to your account after your vacation. You can still link your stay to My Disney Experience about 2-3 days after booking with Marriott. Be sure to browse the special offers section of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin website to see if you qualify for any discounts. My family has taken advantage of great deals for Florida Residents, teachers, and
Annual Passholders.
If you book a vacation package through the Walt Disney World website at one of these properties, obtaining Marriott Bonvoy points could be tricky. There's no place to enter your membership number on the
Walt Disney World booking site, so you would need to speak with someone at the resort's front desk to see if your stay is eligible to earn points. Depending on the nature of your vacation package, it may or may not be.
I hope this is helpful, John. In summary, if earning points is a priority for your trip, reserve your stay directly through Marriott. You'll still enjoy many
perks of being a Walt Disney World Resort Guest, but you'll need to purchase theme park tickets separately rather than as part of a Walt Disney World Vacation Package. Have a wonderful vacation, and if there's anything else we at planDisney can do to make it even better, come back and see us again.
Wishing you magic and memories,
Betsy
