Greetings, Yvonne! I'm so excited to hear that you have a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort next month, and I am honored to help you with your question!
It's a wonderful idea to include a
Water Park during your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. The weather in central Florida can get pretty warm in March, and I love the idea of cooling off at
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, which will reopen soon, as you know. The legend says that there was a surprise snowstorm in Florida, so a ski resort was built. Of course, it started to melt rather quickly, and Blizzard Beach is the result. It
is kind of fun to walk around a winter wonderland in your swimsuit!
I am happy to tell you that you do not need to wait to reserve your
Lodge Umbrella. You can secure those up to 60 days before your check-in date, and you can call and speak with a friendly Cast Member who will be happy to help you. The UK number can be found
here, just scroll down to find Blizzard Beach. It says it's for Polar Patios, but they will be able to help you with your Lodge Umbrella as well.
Blizzard Beach offers something for everyone, from Slush Gusher to
Tike's Peak. For those who are brave enough,
Summit Plummet is one of the tallest, fastest free-fall water slides in the world. It's 12 stories high, nearly straight down, and reaches a top speed of nearly 97 km/h! Some of my kids love it, but I won't go near it! I'm more of a lazy river girl, so you'll find me at Cross Country Creek, which is over 900 meters of (mostly) relaxation. My favorite attraction, though, is the family raft ride, Teamboat Springs. It has just enough thrills without being too scary, and I love that the whole family can ride together!
I hope this helps, Yvonne! If you have any more questions, please come back and see us here at planDisney. If we aren't visiting the parks, our favorite thing to do is help others plan their own magical vacation.
