Well hello there, Maureen. It's so nice to answer your question here at planDisney today!
Sometimes, even the best-laid plans hit a bit of a snag and have to be put on hold. While it's always a good idea to consult the
Walt Disney World Resort Terms & Conditions, I'll give you the key details. Currently, if you have booked a vacation package, which is a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room reservation and
theme park tickets booked together, and cancel 30 days or more before your arrival date, you will receive a full refund, minus any 3rd party fees (if applicable). If you cancel 2 to 29 days before your arrival, you'll receive a full refund minus your initial deposit. If you cancel 1 day or less (or don't show up), the full package price is non-refundable.
Keep in mind that other purchases have different cancelation policies. For example, if you purchase tickets and your hotel room separately, then they each have separate cancelation policies.
Theme park tickets purchased on their own are non-refundable and non-transferable, but the value of the tickets can typically be applied to a future theme park ticket purchase. For a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room booked on its own, you must cancel a 2024 reservation up to 5 days before your arrival for a full refund (which will change to 8 days for 2025 stays). Just make sure to keep an eye on those Terms & Conditions as policies are subject to change.
Maureen, I really hope you're able to make your October visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort work! It's such a great time to visit, especially with the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival going on and all the
Halloween festivities taking place. Be sure to
reach out again with any other questions.
I got the wind in my hair and a song in my heart,
Matt
