Hiya Donna! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this great question!
I'm so excited you are considering a visit to the
Most Magical Place on Earth later this year! One of the benefits of booking a Walt Disney World vacation is the flexibility you have to modify or cancel your trip if needed.
When booking a vacation package, which includes your
Disney Resorts Hotel and ticket package, you will be required to pay a deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your arrival date. During this period, you can modify or cancel your stay without any penalty and receive the initial deposit back. Once you get within the 30 days and wish to change your dates, a $50 change fee will be required (pricing is subject to change). If you
wish to cancel within the 30-day mark, you'll be refunded any monies paid minus the initial required deposit. If you cancel the day before your arrival, the full price of your package is non-refundable.
As you can see, Walt Disney World does allow an ample amount of time to make any changes to your reservation. It's practically worry-free and allows you to secure your Disney Resorts Hotel and park tickets in plenty of time.
If you plan to stay offsite and only purchase a ticket package, this will not work the same way.
Ticket packages are nonrefundable and nontransferable. However, you can make changes to the dates on your park tickets if needed and the tickets will never lose their value. If they happen to go unused, you can use the value you paid toward a future ticket purchase.
Donna, I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming visit! There are some amazing Disney Resorts Hotels to choose from, with each of them having its own distinct theming! You are in for a magical stay!
Happy planning!
Greg
