Welcome to planDisney, Scott!
I'm so glad you've dropped by with a question about your Disney Vacation Club Membership today. While Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points offer the flexibility of choosing when and how you explore Disney Destinations each year, it can also get a little confusing when you're trying to navigate your booking windows. Let me share a few details about your DVC Use Year to help you book the perfect stay for your upcoming Disney vacation.
As it sounds like you already know, your annual allotment of Vacation Points becomes available each year on the same date, which is known as your
Use Year. No matter what month this occurs for you (it's different for each Membership), those Points will be available to use on the first day of that month. For instance, if your Membership has a September Use Year, you'll be able to begin using your yearly Points allotment on September 1st every year.
Now here's the part I think you'll be happy to hear about. While your annual allotment of Points is only good for the current Use Year (unless you're
banking or borrowing Points), you can still book reservations for the upcoming Use Year before those are actually active. Once your booking window opens –– which in many cases is before your Use Year officially begins –– you'll be able to book a reservation for that Use Year with any of the year's available Points. This means that if you're planning to book a stay for January 2024 with your September 2023 Points, you'll be able to book that reservation with your 2023 Vacation Points, as needed. If you're planning to stay at your
Home Resort, you'll be able to book beginning 11 months from your check-in date, otherwise, you'll be able to book all other eligible reservations beginning at the 7-month mark.
I hope this helped to answer your question, Scott, and I really appreciate you visiting planDisney. If you need more information, please don't hesitate to drop back by –– we're always here to lend a helping hand!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
