can I book transportation before and after a cruise to a Disney hotel, if I have already booked by cruise?

    Ahoy, Karen!

Welcome back to planDisney!  It's always great to see a returning Guest - this time as you plan a land and sea adventure.  Combining your Disney Cruise Line vacation with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect way to enjoy the best of both worlds!

Karen, I'm happy to share that ground transportation is currently offered between Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Disney cruises departing from Port Canaveral.  You can easily add ground transportation (for an additional fee) to your existing cruise reservation by calling a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member or your travel agent.  Any Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservations or vacation packages would need to be booked separately from your cruise before calling to add your ground transportation.

Generally, Disney Cruise Line buses pick up from hotels at Walt Disney World Resort in the morning, so I wouldn't recommend making any plans outside of your resort hotel for your departure day.  Also, please keep in mind that when you board your Disney Cruise Line bus, any tagged and checked luggage will be sent directly to your stateroom.  It's important to remember to pack a day bag that you can keep with you at the port and during those first few hours on the ship that includes travel documents, medications, sunscreen, and other necessary items.

Since you'll be vacationing this summer, don't forget to check out the amazing special offers and theme park announcements that were just released by Walt Disney World when deciding how you want to spend your pre- and post-cruise days.  Not only will Cool Kids' Summer be in full swing at that time, but you'll also be able to enjoy free admission to the Walt Disney World water parks on your check-in days.  I had a split stay last summer and was able to visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park on one of my check-in days and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park on the other.  With so much to see and do at each water park, they both made for absolutely SPLASH-tacular days!

I hope this information has been helpful, Karen, and that you enjoy a summer vacation full of memories and magic!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney - we're all ears!

    SEA ya real soon!
