Hi Tim!
Welcome home, and welcome to planDisney!
As a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, I’m always excited to help others get the most out of their Membership. Over the years, DVC has completely changed the way my family holidays at Disney Destinations – and we always say we wish we’d joined much sooner!
One of my favourite things about Membership is the flexibility to use our points in a way that suits our travel plans. As UK Guests, we tend to travel for two weeks at a time, so we’re always ready to book as soon as the 11-month window opens, when availability at our Home Resort is at its best. That said, when we’ve tried to book closer to our travel dates, we’ve sometimes struggled to find full availability. In those cases, we’ve used the waitlist feature on the DVC website and have had success every time, although it’s important to remember that waitlists are never guaranteed.
Tim, if you're eligible for Membership Extras, you can also use your points to stay in regular Disney Hotel rooms at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and even at Disney Hotels around the world through the
Disney Collection. To do this, you’ll need to convert your Vacation Points to Reservation Points and
call Member Services to check availability and book.
One Vacation Point equals one Reservation Point. Just bear in mind that once converted, Reservation Points can't be changed back, and they must be used within the same Use Year. There’s also a $95 transaction fee at the time of writing, though this is currently waived for eligible Members enrolled in
Membership Magic Beyond (prices and offers are subject to change).
I hope this answers your question, Tim, and.that you are able to use your points in the best way for you to enjoy your next Disney vacation! If you have any other questions about your Membership or vacation planning, please
reach out to me. I'd love to help!
See ya real soon!
Matt
