Hi David, welcome home and welcome to planDisney! If you’ve come to learn about how to book a
Disney Vacation Club villa, well you’re at the right place. Let’s cover these important steps so you can be on your way to a great Disney vacation!
As a DVC Member, there are two main ways to book a DVC villa. The most popular and easiest way to book a DVC villa is through
the DVC website. There’s a lot of steps here, so I’ve numbered them for you to make it easier to follow:
- You’ll need to login with your e-mail address and password associated with your DVC account. You can do so by clicking on “Sign In or Create a MyDisney Account”, located at the top of the website. By the way, if you don’t have a MyDisney Account yet created, you’ll need to contact Member Services to setup an account.
- Once logged in, you’ll see a couple of input fields in the center of the screen labeled “Dates”, “Room Type”, and “Resort”. Input your desired reservation dates, the room types you’re looking for, and the desired DVC Resort or Resorts. From there, select “Check Availability”.
- The website will then list all available rooms that match your specifications and lists how many Vacation Points are necessary to complete the booking. Select “Continue”, located at the bottom-right corner and adjacent to the necessary amount of Vacation Points needed for the Resort and room you'd like to book.
- If you have multiple DVC contracts, you’ll then be asked to select which DVC contract to use to complete the booking.
- Afterwards, you’ll be asked to provide the names and contact information for each guest staying in the room. Select “Continue” when finished.
- The website will then display all the details for the reservation, including the guest and contact information you provided, along with a reminder for the amount of Vacation Points and which contract will be used. After agreeing to the DVC Terms and Conditions, select “Book This Room” and you’re all set!
The second method will be to
contact Member Services. When calling Member Services, follow the prompts for the desired Disney Resort (Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or the Beach Resorts) you are interested in booking. You’ll then be directed to a Cast Member who can complete your booking. You'll need to provide all the similar inputs as noted above. Note that Member Services generally opens at 9:00AM and closes at 9:00PM on weekdays and 7:00PM on weekends, eastern time.
Here’s a bonus tip! David, you may want to review
the DVC point charts ahead of your booking to see how many Vacation Points will be needed for your upcoming stay. This is something I frequently do, as I don’t want to be disappointed if I don’t have enough points for a particular Resort or room type. Don't forget you can always bank, borrow, or have Vacation Points transferred in from another Member if you're short on points!
David, I hope this information was helpful as you begin to plan your DVC stay. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to
contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
