Hi Christine,
Welcome to planDisney! I am happy to help you begin your planning to visit the Happiest Place on Earth! Securing your tickets and park reservations always makes me feel more relaxed about my vacation planning.
I see that you will be visiting all the way from Australia! Currently, we ask our
guests from Australia to purchase their resort tickets through a travel agent. Since you would like to come in March, I recommend you do that as soon as possible. You can get a one-day ticket, or you could also get multi-day tickets. Additionally, you can decide to visit one park at a time, or you could upgrade your tickets to a Park Hopper. This allows you to go back and forth between Disneyland and California Adventure after 11 a.m.
A Park Hopper is a great option if you only have a short amount of time to visit the parks. An Esplanade sits between the entrance of both parks, so moving between them is very quick and easy. If I am visiting the parks over multiple days, I personally like to do a one-park-per-day ticket because I get to focus all my attention on the magic in each park.
Your vacation overlaps with the
Food and Wine Festival (Feb. 28–April 21) at Disney California Adventure. Be sure to try lots of tasty food and delicious beverages! If you are a lover of good food or a true foodie, consider getting the
Sip and Savor Pass. This allows you to try four or eight items at a lower price point. There are also cooking demonstrations and live music throughout the festival. Check out the
Disney Parks Blog to see what items will be offered this year.
I hope this information was helpful, Christine. If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share our thoughts.
Wishing you the best of luck!
