If I book a table at Magic Key Terrace for World of Color dining package, and I’m not a Magic Pass Key Holder, can I still dine there or will they turn me away? And what time should the dinner reservation be for?

    Hi Scott,

Thanks for coming to planDisney with your question. Securing a dining package is a great way to get the best seats in the house for World of Color. Outside of fireworks, World of Color is my favorite nighttime entertainment.

Sounds like you are interested in dining at the Magic Key Terrace. When I went last year, I had the Emperor's New Flatbread and it was amazing! World of Color has several dining packages that are available to guests. According to their policies, the dining package available at the Magic Key Terrace is just for Magic Key pass holders. When I dined there, I was required to show my Magic Key pass in the Disneyland app to enter. However, I will say that your entire party does not have to be Magic Key holders. As long as one person in the party has a valid Magic Key, you may enter as a group. If that is not an option for you, Scott, fear not; there are other great locations to dine at under the dining package.

The World of Color Dining Package is also available at Storytellers Cafe and the Wine Country Trattoria. As the famous Chef Remy once said, “If you are what you eat, then I only wanna eat the good stuff.” These two restaurants have “the good stuff!”  I have dined at both these locations and can say I have enjoyed myself and left satisfied. The Storytellers Cafe is located inside the Grand Californian, and the Wine Country Trattoria is inside California Adventure, right below the Magic Key Terrace. You want to grab Lunch or Dinner at either of these restaurants to get the dining package. Check out their menus to see which one speaks to you. At the Storytellers Cafe, the first show’s dining time is from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The second show's dining time is 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. At Wine Country Trattoria, lunch is available from 11:00 am to 3:55 pm, and dinner is available from 4:00 pm to 7:50 pm.

Planning Tip: If you have a reservation at the Storytellers Cafe, be sure to use the Grand Californian exit and entrance in Grizzly Peak. It will save you a lot of time compared to exiting from the front of the park.

Scott, I hope this was helpful information. Dinner and a show! You have got the right idea with your Disney planning. If you have any other questions or need help planning, please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelist, and we would be happy to share our thoughts.

    Best of luck!
