I want to book a surprise weekend trip to WDW with my husband in October for the Food & Wine Festival...but not sure if Yacht Club or Beach Club would be best for us. We're early 30s, no kids...Any suggestions??

    Hi Meredith!

    That is a fantastic surprise!

Last year when we attended the Food & Wine Festival my family stayed at the Beach Club and we enjoyed walking to Epcot right into the World Showcase where the Festival was in full swing.

The Beach Club and Yacht Club are sister Resorts with the Yacht Club being slightly larger. The Resorts join in the middle and share the amazing Stormalong Bay water feature.

The Yacht Club has a more upscale, classy feel with dark hardwoods and deep colors in the decor. While the Beach Club has more of a relaxed beachside cottage feel with soft pastels . You will see couples, families and business convention goers at both Resorts although I have read that some people consider the Beach Club to be have more family guests. Last October the guests at both Resorts looked like an equal mix to me.

But what it really came down to for us is location and the Beach Club Resort is that little bit closer to Epcot which is where we wanted to be during the Festival!  You will experience Disney's legendary hospitality at both Resorts so there isn't a bad choice here. From my experience, I definitely recommend the Beach Club and requesting a room on the far side closest to Epcot. There you can have a short stroll over to Epcot or Disney's Boardwalk area which is a wonderful area to walk around for shopping & dining.

I hope your husband loves the surprise and that you have a magical time at the Food & Wine Fest!
