    Can we book a 2BR & a studio at BCV (home resort) at 11 months, then see if a GV is available at 7 mo. and transfer our reservation points to that GV? Is there any risk of losing the 1st res at BCV while trying to get a GV? What is the best way to do t

    Howdy Karen!  I truly cannot thank you enough for all of your questions!!  It makes my heart so happy to have the continued dialogue as you plan your family vacation!!

    I think this is a brilliant beyond brilliant idea!!!  I would definitely book Disney's Beach Club Villas as soon as possible to ensure you have a place to stay.

    There is a small chance you could lose your original reservation when you book your Grand Villa.  Do you typically book online or by calling Member Services?  I would encourage you to use both when you are at the 7 month window.  Use the DVC Member website to check availability.  Check the availability for both the Grand Villas as well as Beach Club.  Depending on what you find, you might want to call Member Services to book the resort.  If inventory is limited and you are concerned about losing your reservation, I would definitely call in and have one of the Cast Members assist you.  If there are plenty of villas available, you should be fine to book online without issue.

    If there are no Grand Villas available, I would encourage you to add your reservation to the waitlist as you never know what might open up.

    When you book your reservation at Beach Club, I would suggest that you request to have your villas as close together as possible, just in case you are not able to reserve a Grand Villa.
