If I book my stay at one of the Disney Resorts and then need to cancel my trip, would the hotel room be refundable?

    Hello Brielle,

It's wonderful to see you here at planDisney!

Booking a stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, I think, brings you both the anticipation of staying in the magic with the Disney Resorts Collection, and the peace of mind knowing that you've got some flexibility should your plans change.

When you book a room-only reservation for a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you'll be prompted to put down a deposit to confirm your reservation. If your plans change and you need to cancel your reservation, you'll want to be sure to cancel at least 5 days before your arrival and check-in date to receive a refund of your deposit.

You can cancel your Resort hotel reservation by calling the Walt Disney World Resort at (407) 934-7639. You can also cancel some types of reservations online through your My Disney Experience account. When you sign in to your My Disney Experience account, you can look for your "My Plans" information. Next to your Resort hotel reservation, you'll see an option to cancel the reservation if it can be cancelled online.

When you are booking your Resort hotel, you'll see that the Terms and Conditions can be quickly viewed before you complete the booking and check out. It's always a good idea to take a look at this information to help you know what your options are as you make your plans.

Brielle, I hope this information is helpful as you make your plans to stay at the Walt Disney World Resort. Please do visit us again soon here at planDisney with any questions you have about tips and recommendations for your trip. The planDisney panelists are always happy to help!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
