If I book a split stay with my DVC points is each hotel considered a new reservation that will effect my ability to make ADR’s (or fast pass selections when they return) for the entire trip at once? Thanks for your help!!

    Welcome Home, Jennifer!

It’s always fun to answer questions for my fellow Disney Vacation Club Members! We love our Disney Vacation Club Membership, and as the kids get older, I think I appreciate it, and what it has given us over the years even more. I just made our Advance Dining Reservations for our summer visit a few days ago, and I can't wait to head home to Disney!

A split-stay can be a great way to experience the benefits of different resorts such as dining, pools, and other amenities. I know some Disney Vacation Club Members prefer to stay at a resort near Magic Kingdom for a few nights to focus on that park, then move to an Epcot area resort to be conveniently located near both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Or sometimes, availability may be in a crunch and a split-stay is the way to make a trip work for your dates. Whatever your reasons, there are a lot of advantages to a split-stay.

There are, however, disadvantages as well, and your question highlights one of the downsides. When you go to make your Advance Dining Reservations, you will only be able to make reservations for each stay separately, which makes it harder to snag some of the most popular locations. Ultimately, you will have to weigh the benefits and drawbacks for your family. When FastPass+ (hopefully) makes a return, you would have the same situation with booking those. Here’s a Pro Tip for you, you don’t have to book reservations in chronological order, so plan to schedule the more popular locations at the end of your stay, and book those first. I felt very lucky to find a reservation for breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace, but making it for the 6th day of our visit is what helped us be successful in that booking.

Whatever you decide, I hope you find the perfect solution for your visit. Please let me know if you have any additional questions before your trip, I am always happy to talk Disney!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
