How to book on site hotels with DVC points

    Hiya, Merilyn!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney!  Merilyn, don't you just love being a Member of the Disney Vacation Club? Staying in one of the uniquely-themed Disney Vacation Club Resorts transports you to a whole new world. But, what I love most is the home-away-from-home amenities of the Deluxe Studios or Villas. These include the kitchenettes or full-sized kitchens, spacious gathering and dining areas, and access to in-room or onsite laundry.  Disney Vacation Club makes Disney family vacations even more magical.

Merilyn, there are two ways to book one of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts using your Vacation Points.  You can either log in to your Disney Vacation Club account online or you can call Member Services.  If you want to make the booking online, just log into your Disney Vacation Club account and click on the My DVC tab. At the top, there is a search bar for you to search availability based on dates and room size, and then you will be able to see all of the DVC Resorts that have availability during your desired dates.

Now, one thing to note is that if you are booking at your Home Resort - the Resort in which you purchased a Vacation Ownership Interest - you can book your Resort beginning 11 months in advance of your desired check-in date. If you are trying to book any other Disney Vacation Club Resort, you can do this beginning seven months in advance of your desired check-in date.  If you do a search and are too far out from these priority periods, it will look like there is no availability. So, in this case, you will want to check back within the priority booking window.

Alternatively, you can always call Member Services to assist you.

Now, if you are interested in booking one of the NON-DVC Disney Resorts at one of the theme parks or Disney Destinations around the world, this is a different process. In this case, you would want to go to the Disney Vacation Club website and log in. Then, scroll to the Destinations tab and select Disney Resort Hotels Near & Far. Next, click the blue "View All Resorts." Here you can explore what the Vacation Points cost would be to book one of these Resorts. Currently, it shows BOTH Disney Vacation Club Resorts AND non-DVC Disney Resorts (but note that to use Vacation Points to book any DVC Resort, you can only do so based on the booking windows I mentioned above.) Underneath the hotels is a small blue link that says "View Points Charts." This will give you an idea of how many Vacation Points it would cost for specific Resorts and room types at certain times of the year.

When you are ready to book one of the non-DVC Resorts, you will need to call Member Services. The Cast Members will convert your Vacation Points into Reservation Points, check availability, make the booking for you, and share with you any guidelines or rules regarding this process.

I hope this helps you, Merilyn! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back and see me and I'll be so happy to help you.

    See ya real soon!
