I want to book the save stay and play package and have two people in the room but only need one park ticket because my daughter gets a two day park hopper from the summit cheer competition. Should I just book the room with only my name?

Welcome to planDisney, Miranda, it’s so nice to meet you!

I cannot wait for you to arrive in just a few short months. I’m sure your daughter and her team are in full comp mode preparing for Summit. It will be nice to see her shine and enjoy some time in the parks together. There will be plenty to do with Flower & Garden going on, the new tiger to see, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. I’m so excited for you all!

From my experience, when booking a vacation package everyone in the room will have to have the same package details. That would mean both you and your daughter will be on the reservation with the same resort and ticket offer. Since your daughter does already have a theme park ticket, I recommend taking a look at the other special offers Disney World currently has. Booking a resort and ticket combination separately might be a better offer. I also recommend double-checking with her team to see if there’s a way to opt out of her team ticket. When I coached high school cheer we gave families the option to purchase their ticket with us as a team or separate, so it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Miranda, I hope this helps answer your question. Please visit us again if you need any other tips or resort recommendations as you continue to plan for this trip. Especially if you need dining or snack recommendations, I’m your girl. I’m a self-proclaimed Disney foodie always on the hunt for the best new snack or repeat snack like the classic DOLE Whip.

Have fun and please wish your daughter good luck for me!

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
