Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Rebecca. Thanks for stopping by with your question.
I see that you have a trip planned to the
most magical place on earth in just a few weeks' time. I bet you are getting so excited. Hopefully, the countdown is on!
Rebecca, the
Kilimanjaro Safaris is an attraction that is included with your admission to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Anyone visiting is welcome to enjoy that particular attraction. You can check the exact date on the operational calendar but today the Kilimanjaro Safari was open from about 8:00 a.m. until about 7:45 this evening. This attraction has a standby queue which basically means you just show up, enter the queue and wait until it is your turn. Typically wait times might be around 30 minutes to an hour throughout the day. You can also enjoy this attraction with less wait time using the Disney Genie+ system. I typically like to head there in the morning right after enjoying a ride on a banshee at
Avatar Flight of Passage, for two reasons. One, the animals are more active in the morning and two, it cuts down on the wait time. The Kilimanjaro Safaris is an amazing attraction and one I love to enjoy over and over because no two safaris are ever the same.
If you are looking to enjoy a safari in a different way, there is a unique upgraded tour offered at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The
Wild Africa Trek is a 3-hour safari adventure that takes you through a grassland path, crosses a rope bridge with crocodiles underneath and gives you an opportunity to ride in a rugged safari vehicle over an open savanna all while potentially spotting giraffes, elephants, zebras and more! This experience is extremely popular. If you are interested in possibly booking the Wild Africa Trek you can check the availability online.
I hope you have a wild time on your safari, Rebecca. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Enjoy!
Jackie H.
