If we book a room a year out, make dining reservations at 180 days, and then want to book a different resort after that (to take advantage of a deal)... Would we have to cancel our first room to book the new? Would this cancel our dining reservations?

    Hi Jessica,

So awesome you’re planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation even If it’s a year away. Anytime is a great time to do so!

You can make advanced dining reservations up to 180 days in advance. And if you have a Disney Resort hotel reservation, you can do them for your entire stay, up to 10 days. But these reservations are separate from your room reservation or vacation package. Changing resorts or dates, or canceling them will not have any effect on dining reservations. Here’s a tip: the My Disney Experience mobile app lets you keep track of all of your reservations, and lets you make, modify and cancel them.

Special Offers are an excellent way to stretch your Disney dollars. Either upgrading to a nicer resort, adding Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More options, purchasing Memory Maker, or even extending your vacation, they all let you extend the magic. I always tell my friends and family to plan a vacation based on the dates they are willing to travel. If an offer happens to come out, then try to make the best of it. Depending on the offer, you may have to change resorts, adjust dates, change ticket options, or switch to a Magic Your Way Vacation Package. Best is to contact a vacation planning specialist at (407) 939-1936 or your travel agent.

So let’s get planning! If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
