Hi Louise,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As one who is always on the lookout for discounts, I empathize with your dilemma.
If a
Special Offer comes out after you make a reservation, you can certainly call guest services at 407-939-5277 to ask if the special offer can be applied to your reservation. Although there is no guarantee that you will get the special rate, there is a chance!
I have actually encountered this problem at least once in the past. When I called, the first cast member I spoke with could not apply the discount code to my reservation because my room type was actually sold out. But, he transferred me to another cast member who was able to provide some options, one of which was switching to another
resort hotel that still had discount-eligible rooms available.
My advice is to decide which is more important - your resort & room category or the discount? If you are most concerned with the discount, once a special offer becomes available, you could potentially switch to another resort and get the discount if a cast member is unable to apply it to your current reservation.
We always make a resort reservation at least 181 days prior to our vacation to be sure we can make
dining reservations for the week of our trip. Since we are creatures of habit, we have our favorite resorts and room categories, so I tend to book those so that we are sure we have our preferred room category. We typically book the least expensive room type at a deluxe resort. It gives us access to deluxe resort amenities while keeping costs down.
Louise, I am sending pixie dust hoping you get a good deal!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
