How do I book a room in a non DVC resort using DVC points?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Kelly!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! Yeehaw! How exciting that you are thinking of maximizing your Membership by using your Vacation Points to book a Disney Resort Collection Hotel. One of the things I love about Disney Vacation Club Membership is the flexibility to book affordable family vacations year after year at Disney and beyond.

Kelly, to book a non-Disney Vacation Club Resort in the Disney Hotel Collection, you will want to log in to your Disney Vacation Club account on the Disney Vacation Club website.  Then, scroll to the Destinations tab and select Disney Resort Hotels near and far.  Click on "View All Resorts" and here is where you can view the Vacation Points Charts for all of the Resorts in the Disney collection.  For each Resort, there is a little blue link that says "View Points Chart" so you will be able to see the Vacation Point Cost to book different room types at that Resort.  When you are ready, call Member Services who will check availability, convert your Vacation Points into Reservation Points, and make the booking for you.

If you want to book at a non-Disney destination, then you do this through Interval International.  From the Destinations tab on the Disney Vacation Club website, go to "Hotel Exchange" and then click the blue button that says "Book With Interval Online." You can explore different destinations around the world and the Vacation Points costs.  If you are ready to book, you can make an exchange through the online booking tool or call Member Services for assistance.

Just remember that any of these transactions are final and can't be undone.  So, I like to give Member Services a call before taking any action for an exchange, just to make sure I maximize my Membership in the best possible way.

I hope this helps you, Kelly! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, giddy-up back here to see me. After all, you've got a friend in me!

    Happy Trails,
    Keri
