Hi Patricia,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow international traveller!
Unfortunately, the old Disney FastPass+ system which allowed visitors to make up to 3 FastPass+ reservations per day up to 60 days in advance of their stay has been discontinued. It has been replaced by a new paid system,
Disney Genie+ Service.
This service allows Guests who purchase it to make
Lightning Lane entrance selections (basically, the old FastPass+ selections) the day of their Theme Park visit. You make your selections one at a time, starting at 7 am if you’re staying in a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. After that first selection is made, you can start booking new ones every 2 hours after the Park opens for the day, or once you’ve used your initial selections. You can also purchase Individual Lightning Lane selections for one attraction in each park, too.
Although it took me a bit of time to get used to the system, I’ve really come to appreciate the flexibility that the new Disney Genie+ Service and Lightning Lane entrances have given me to plan my Disney Day. One of the advantages is the fact that you can “stack” your selections and even book overlapping times. This is handy for people who only get to the Parks later in the day. Another enhancement, at least from my perspective, is the fact that, if you’ve purchased the
Park Hopper Option for your Theme Park Ticket, you can choose to make some of your Lightning Lane or Individual Lightning Lane selections in the park that you plan to “hop” to later in the day.
Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
