If I book a ride with Genie + for 3:00pm do I have to wait 2 hours to book an earlier ride?

    Hiya Rick!

Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question for us.

The only thing more exciting than planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is being on one, and I'm elated to learn you're doing just that! Familiarizing yourself with Disney Genie+ is an excellent idea because you'll be ready to use the service while you're in the parks.

You're correct, Rick. Once you make a Disney Genie+ reservation, you aren't eligible to make your next reservation until:

-You've either checked into the reservation you've made most recently
    OR
    -When the 120 minutes pass

So if your first selection with Disney Genie+ is at 3 PM and you made it at 9 AM, once 11 AM hits, you're eligible to make another Disney Genie+ selection. When I plan on doing this and filling my late afternoon and evening with Disney Genie+ selections, I put a timer on my phone every two hours and make a reservation every time my timer goes off.

If you're wondering how I fill my mornings at the parks when I do this, I'm happy to tell you! I like to rope drop, which means I'm inside the park as soon as they're allowing Guests to enter and going for some of the popular rides while the waits are low. This strategy is most beneficial if you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel which allows you to enter the theme parks 30 minutes earlier than the official park opening. During this time, I like to experience the more popular attractions as they'll have less wait time during Early Entry. As you know, your two-hour timer begins once the park is officially open. As the park officially opens, the wait times begin to increase, and my two-hour timer starts ticking. This is when I like to find attractions with less wait time to experience. For instance, if I'm at Magic Kingdom Park, I like to head to Dumbo the Flying Elephant or the classic Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, which has a theater, so I know I'll be able to get in and enjoy it without much of a wait. I also grab a coffee or breakfast during this time and enjoy watching The Dapper Dans. I can also hop aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad! And thanks to my timer, I'm choosing some awesome Disney Genie+ selections every two hours to fill my afternoon/evening.

Thankfully, there's never a dull moment at the parks because there's so much to do. And once your afternoon rolls around, you'll see some pretty awesome Disney Genie+ selections made for the rest of your day! I hope you find this strategy to be helpful!

We can't wait to welcome you to the magic, Rick! Have an enchanting visit.
