Hi there, Jamie! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with your magical vacation planning question. I love chatting about Disney Vacation Club with a fellow Member!
Don't you just LOVE being a
Disney Vacation Club Member?! Knowing that your next pixie-dusted adventure is always on the horizon is what makes Membership priceless. Being able to vacation at any DVC Resort, other Disney Experiences, and destinations across the globe is what makes Membership so magical. My family and I are currently in the phase of life where the extent of our global travel is roaming around EPCOT's World Showcase, but when my daughter is older, I can't wait to use our Membership to travel the country and world. I'm so excited to hear that you are planning to maximize your Membership's potential, and I'm thrilled to answer your question today.
One way to book a non-Disney DVC vacation is to
make a reservation for a Worldwide Stay through the
Concierge Collection. First, explore the
list of destinations and check out the Points Charts online to decide where you would like to visit. Then, to convert your Vacation Points to Reservation Points, check availability and request your reservation,
call DVC Member Services to speak with a helpful Cast Member. After pressing 1 to reach Member Services, press 4 to speak with a Cast Member who specializes in booking vacations in the Concierge Collection. Most of these Resorts' booking windows open 11 months before arrival, and while prices are subject to change, be aware that right now, a $95 transaction fee is due at the time of confirmation. Also, it's important to note that Concierge Collection reservations are subject to the Rule of Four, which means that reservations must be made prior to the last four months of your Use Year for stays in that Use Year.
Unless Members have points already deposited into RCI, DVC no longer does exchanges with RCI, so, when
booking a Worldwide Villa, it will be through
Interval International. The booking window for some of these vacation exchanges opens up to two years in advance, so, I suggest exploring your options and booking as soon as you can. You can book a fabulous stay at destinations around the world online by clicking the blue "Book with Interval Online" button on the
Interval International page on the DVC website, or you can book by calling DVC Member Services. You do have to deposit your Vacation Points into Interval by calling Member Services before you can book, but I suggest exploring your travel options online and seeing how many Points you will have to deposit first. Then, call Member Services to deposit the Points and book. Again, after pressing 1 for Member Services, press 4 to reach a helpful Cast Member who specializes in exchanges. Happy booking and planning, my friend!
I hope this was helpful, Jamie, and I hope you are soon booking and planning the vacation of your dreams! A dream is a wish your heart makes, so, stop by any time with any planning or DVC questions you may have along the way for help making all of your travel wishes come true.
I hope to see ya real soon,
Mandy
