When you want to book reservations to Cinderella's royal table, why do they charge your credit card right away if you are using your disney dining plan? And do you get the money credited back if you don't cancel your reservations?

    Hi Brittany!

Cinderella's Royal Table is such an awesome dining experience.  I truly enjoy the chance to be inside Cinderella's Castle, seeing my daughter mingle with the Princesses, and let's not forget the yummy food as well!

When I've dined at Cinderella's Royal Table in the past, I haven't used the dining plan to cover the cost of the meal.  So, when I made the reservations, my credit card was charged in advance for the full cost of the meal.  I was told that this is a practice used for some of the more popular restaurants and dinner shows.

However, I was told that if you make a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table, and you're using a dining plan for your vacation, they only place a hold on your credit card.  If you show up for your reservation, the hold is supposed to be removed from your card and a credit is placed against your dining plan balance.  If you decide to cancel your reservation at least 48 hours prior to your reservation time, there should not be any charge.

If you found that your card was charged, as opposed to just having a hold put on it, I would suggest calling Disney Dining at (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 to make sure your reservation was properly linked to your dining plan.

    I hope that helps.

    Bon Appetit!
