Hi there, Kaylyn, and welcome to planDisney!
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—
French Quarter is one of my favorite hotels at Walt Disney World Resort. It’s not just because of those delectable Mickey-shaped beignets or the fun New Orleans vibe, but it’s because of that exact perk that you’re asking about, Kaylyn. So, if you settle in at its sister Resort hotel, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—
Riverside, you are in for a splashin’ good time!
Although at most Resort hotels, pool hopping is not allowed, I have fantastic news for you: Guests at both Disney's Port Orleans Resort hotels can use the pools at both locations. Of course, who wouldn’t want to slide down Scales, the mega sea serpent waterslide at French Quarter's Doubloon Lagoon? Take it from me, it’s a fun thrill while taking a break from the theme parks. Keep in mind that if you visit between January and April 2024, the
Doubloon Lagoon pool will be closed for routine maintenance.
But remember, you’ve got friends on the other side! At your Resort hotel, there’s the
Ol’ Man Island pool, which is also a hit when trying to cool down. There are also five additional leisure pools to enjoy for some peace and quiet.
AN EXTRA GEM: You can drive to the other Resort hotel; however, you can also walk (about 15 minutes) or even take a boat! Take a trip down the
Sassagoula River to Disney Springs for a nice meal, lively entertainment, or fun shopping. Look for the ferry boats with the dual yellow/purple flag if you want to take a trip between each Resort hotel as well. This easygoing ride is one of the highlights of my stays in that area.
Kaylyn, you’re almost there! Once you’ve booked your stay and if you have any other questions, just
give us a holler here at planDisney. I would be happy to give you a hand. Au revoir!
Magic always,
LeAndra
